Banana Cream Pie. Slice.
We tried the deep dish cookies from this place called Slice, but this banana cream pie totally won hands down. VERY GOOD.

These J.Co doughnuts are ridiculous. And I mean that in a good way.

Steak and Pizza - Uncle Cheffy’s

Uncle Cheffy’s is easily becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the metro.

Cheesy RoastBeef, Bacon and Mushroom - Roast Beef Bonanza
A hidden gem in a foodcourt in Makati! We discovered this two weeks ago, and despite the fact that it is served in a styro box, this meal gets all the oohs and aahs in the pantry. The bacon bits are crispy, and the roast beef is amah-zing. It comes in 3 sizes, the one here is the ‘Grand Daddy’ size, and hoo boy is it GRRRAAANND. :D You also have two options— to put all of these on top of a bed of rice, or in between burger buns with caramelized onions for a tasty sandwich.

Rotolo di Pollo Porchettato - Amici

There’s chicken fillet. Then there’s chicken fillet with ricotta cheese and wrapped in BACON. BEAUTIFUL BACONNNNN.

Corned Beef Sinigang - Sentro
Can someone say comfort food? It still surprises me when I find out that some people have not tried this yet. I immediately drag them over to Sentro. The sharing bowl is good for around 2 to 3 people, but you can order more soup (and I can live on that forever, actually). How can you not like 2 of the most wonderful dishes combined? I get so happily confused—- it’s corned beef AND SINIGANG. /rolls
(My photos are horrible, I was too far away from the window light and too short for my top view)

Lemograss Drink / Thai Iced Tea - Just Thai
Burgos Circle

I went over to Just Thai for a shoot a few weeks back, but I’m not here to talk about the food I shot for work that day. I am posting about the TEA! THE FREAKING ICED TEA. Why? Because I am in love with tea. I’ve been drinking tea for a decade. I first tried Thai tea in SOMS (near Powerplant). I found that even though I will probably never be a fan of Thai food (I can hear my sister screaming WHHHHYY, along with many other fans), I will never get over the amazing sticky sweetness of Thai tea. When I visited Thailand the first time, I nearly cried when I saw that they had dispensers (similar to what we have here for juice and iced tea in fast food chains) for Nestea Thai Tea! You get GIANT CUPS of iced yummygoodness! Heaven is in a foodcourt in Bangkok.
And so, even though I love the milk tea (just last night I dreamt of milk tea) from all these SereniteaBubbleSunMoonLeafTeaLeafHappyWhatHaveyou places, when given a choice between those and Thai tea, Thai wins in a heartbeat. Which is WHY, next time you’re in Burgos Circle, even if it’s just one out of the ten times you’re buying Serenitea from next door, I implore you!!—to try the Thai tea of Just Thai. Or you know, run over to SOMS and get tea there. Must say, though, the one here in Just Thai looks prettiest. They taste almost the same, but you pay more here for ambiance and pretty Avatar tree lights.
Don’t mind the lemongrass. It’s just there to look pretty because my Mom made a mistake of NOT ORDERING THAI TEA.

Grilled Pork Chops - Gumbo

Mall of Asia

You know how everything looks better when they put corn on the side? Haha. I have nothing to say about this, because I wasn’t the one who ordered it, but based on my Uncle’s testimonies, it was A-OK, although it took ten years to serve. What I do recommend, that I guess most people don’t go to Gumbo for, are the BAKERY goods! There was a little bakery there by the side with fresh, warm bread and they were ridiculously inexpensive (also I believe our first order -we ordered more, you see- was complimentary). You can ask for olive oil and vinaigrette, because really, how can you eat bread without those two.

Seared Salmon - Stock Market
B4, Bonifacio High Street

Seared yummy salmon served on top of mashed potatoes. Topped with cheese. Vegetable sidings. Won’t leave you stuffed, but quite delightful anyway.

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup - Borough
G/F Podium Mall

I cannot, cannot get enough of this order. I know Borough is more known for their milk an cookies (I MUST TRY THAT SOME TIME, HONESTLY), but in the few times I traversed all the way to Ortigas for Borough— this has been my consistent order. I can say, without hesitation, that this tastes like pure magic.
Let me explain how it goes: You tear a bit of that grilled mozarella cheese sandwich and dunk that piece into the thick, creamy soup, then ya shove it in your mouth even though it might seem too hot… AND HEAR THE CHOIR SING! Repeat.
